![]() ![]() Raw converters designed to produce color images in effect throw away the overlapped areas. The color filters on Bayer (or X-Trans) image sensors color sensitivities' overlap considerably. While AccuRaw Monochrome will run on laptops, performance is optimized for desktop systems. AccuRaw monochrome is built just to produce the best possible monochrome image: Accuraw uses all your image data. I am converting the files with a beta version of AccuRaw. AccuRaw and AccuRaw Monochrome can be used as an external editor for Adobe applications such as Lightroom, Apples Aperture, and other apps that support 'external editor' functionality. Raw conversion requires very substantial amounts of processing power and memory. A 36-megapixel Pure Monochrome Camera (Modified Nikon D800) I am working with a modified Nikon D800 which has been altered so that it is now a true monochrome camera: no RGB filter array (removed), and of course no anti-aliasing filter. ** Note: (a) AccuRaw monochrome only converts to monochrome, and (b) AccuRaw Monochrome doesn't do noise reduction or lens corrections - the image you get is the image your camera saw. The issue is that for a modified sensor, the raw processor sees a M9 file, and assumes it is Bayer, which its not. ![]()
